913 couples with 2009's Summer Dance Festival
Berlin's Summer Dance Festival saw a further increase of participating couples. The 755 couples of last year's event were topped by now 913 couples of Juveniles, Juniors and Youth from eight nations in 45 competitions.
Highlights were again the four IDSF-world ranking tournaments of Juniors II (B) and Youth (A).

German Triple on top of Juniors II B Standard
The final competition of this year's Summer Dance Festival was the Juniors II B Standard competition.
Three German couples were ranked in places 1 to 3: Daniel Buschmann/Katarina Bauer of Dortmund won among the 38 couples. The close race of the silver trophy was successfully ended by Daniel-Artur Kolosin/Alexandra Elert of Kassel ahead of Alex Ionel/Cordula-Patricia Beckhoff (Paderborn). After four dances place was splitted - the final decision came with the Quickstep.

Close result in IDSF Youth Latin
In the IDSF Youth Latin competition, Marek Bures/Junona Fisman (Checz Republic) achieved a marginal victory over Ilie Bardahan/Jekaterina Kalugina from Berlin. If only one mark would have different, the result would be different, too. Place three went to Evgeny Kuznetsov/Ekaterina Polevtsova from Russia.

Like yesterday, the couples of the IDSF Youth competition, today in Latin, could start their competition in time. 72 couples will dance for the victory in the world ranking competition. In addition, 480 starts are expected.

Victory in IDSF Junior II Latin for Berlin
As in the last year, the last cvompetition at day one is the IDSF Junior II Latin competition. In this year, it stays in Berlin. The national champions, Ilja Schäfer/Christina Zelt, won all five dances. The victory was never in danger. With Daniel-Artur Kolosin/Alexandra Elert and Benjamin Becker/Josefin Dinger, two more finalists of the national championship reached the places.

IDSF Youth Standard goes to Poland
In the first IDSF competition of the 11th Summer Dance Festival, the polish couple Bartlomiej Szkutnik/ Alicja Minkiewicz won the Youth Standard competition. With four winning dances, they reached an invulnerably victory. The second and third place went to Ggerman couples, Alex Gerlein/Karolina Bauer (Paderborn) and Rami Schehimi/Lilli Hills (Dresden).

Summer Dance Festival 2009 has started
2009's Summer Dance Festival has started on time. On floor B the IDSF world ranking tournament of Youth A Modern marked the beginning among a total number of more than 45 competitions at the venue of Werner-Seelenbinder-Arena (Velodrom). At the same time on floor C several Junior competitions went into action as well. The results of all competitions will be displayed on this website. Please refer to sport/results.
